Congratulations to Lightning Strikes for winning the league for the second time in five years and in some style with another big win, 12-0, against nearest rivals Hot Chris Bunz. Their winning margin ended at a massive 40 points. In a very close finish KTFD took second place from Hot Chris Bunz on pinfall. Ladies Who Bowl did enough against KTFD to hold off the X-Men to retain fiurth place.

Not many high scores tonight; Terry Highton hit the only 500 series, 509 (617) and the best game of the night, 195 (231). Dom Clarke had the best handicap series; 623 (467) and Mick King the best handicap game 233 (187 - his best game of the season)

Another win for Lightning Strikes confirms that they are champions this season with the final week to come. They lead second place Hot Chris Bunz by 28 points and KTFD in third by another six points.

Only two 500 series tonight: Mick Freeborn hit a season best 529 (649 with handicap) and Terry highton had a 523 (631). Terry also had the only 200 game of the night and his first 200 game of the season, 226 (262).

Neale Millett had new game and series scores for the league and Dom Clarke improved his high series by 11 to 469 (628)

Keith MacFarlane was successful with a 5-10 split.

A small setback for Lightning Strikes with a narrow loss to Hit and Miss but their 5-7 score meant that Hot Chris Bunz only made up three points on them. The gap is now 24 points and surely guarantees that they will be champions.

No 500 series or 200 games tonight; Rose Barton came closest with 493 (613 with handicap) Chris Johnson had the best game, 187 (228) and Boom had most of the high team scores, against Brothers Grimm.

Bunz Hughes was successful with a difficult 6-7 split.

After another 12-0 win, this time against Great Bowls of Fire, Lightning Strikes are as good as home for the league title. They now lead by 27 points from Hot Chris Bunz who rise back to second after beating last weeks second place KTFD. With three weeks to go and a maximum of 36 points available, Hot Chris Bunz and KTFD only have a mathematical chance of overcoming the leaders.

Five bowlers made the 500 mark tonight, but only just. John Bryer was top scorer with 507 (582 with handicap) There were no 200 games.

Paul Simmons improved his best scores by a good margin: series by 76 from 426 to 502 and high game up by 25 to 188 (245). Sally Lewin had a new high series.

In spite of only managing a draw against Hollywood Lightning Strikes keep up the pressure on the chasing teams. They lead by 20 points from KTFD whose good form continued tonight, and 27 over Hot Chris Bunz in third. With only four matches to go Lightning Strikes will take some beating.

Most of the high scores came from the same match - Brothers Grimm vs KTFD. John Bryer was top scorer wth 588 (666 with handicap) including the best game of the night, 214 (240). Ray Telfer considerably improved his high scores with his first 500 series (525, 663) and 200 game (204, 250) of the season. Between them KTFD set new high series scores for the league; scratch +73 to 1,113 and handicap +60 to 1,329. Their high game 388 (460) is the second highest of the league.

Lesley Wright, Dave Lewin and Sally Lewin had new high series scores tonight and Lesley and Dave also had new high games.

Keith MacFarlane was successful with a 4-7-10 split and Chris Woodward got a 5-10.

Lightning Strikes won again - against rivals X-Men - while Hot Chris Bunz faltered and they draw away from their challengers. Their lead over new second place KTFD is 26 points with Hot Chris Bunz another three behind.

Rich Lester almost made it to the 600 series landmark with a new season best 594 (666 with handicap). John Bryer hit a 528 series (606) which included the best game of the season so far; 253 (279) which included 7 strikes in a row.

Cameron Rogers had another new high series - 24 higher at 446 (635) and Graham Lewis improved by 22 to 526 (655). Nicola Rye Holland had a new high game, 3 higher at 192 (236).

Lightning Strikes took all of the points in the local derby against Pin Pals and increase their lead over Hot Chris Bunz to 21 points. X-Men move above KTFD into third after a 12-0 win over Rich Lester representing Duo on his own.

Steve Emmony was the only player to reach the 500 series and 200 game levels this week with 535 (646 with handicap) and 211 (248) Barbara Lewis hit a 495 (624) series.

Cameron Rogers had a new high series - 59 higher at 422 (629) Sandra Woodfield (Wright Stuff) and Dave Lewin (Great Bowls of Fire) also had new high series.

Barbara Lewis and Berenice Davies were successful with 5-10 splits.

After another 8-4 win Lightning Strikes build their lead to 19 points ahead of Hot Chris Bunz who keep second in spite of losing 4-8 tonight. Last weeks top six teams all retain their positions but now KTFD are third by only five points and have a game in hand over the leaders.

Top scorers this week were the usual suspects; John Bryer hit a 535 series (610 with handicap) and Rich Lester had a 505 series (574). Neither of these had a 200 game though and Chris Johnson had the best game - 200 (241)

Kevin King improved his high series by 7 to 461 (611 - the best of the night) and also had a new high game, 11 higher at 170 (229)

Lightning strikes won again tonight, 8-4 against Glitter Girls, and were the only one of last weeks top five teams to win. League positions are unchanged apart from Duo who slip a place to fifth, below Ladies Who Bowl in fourth. Lightning now have a 15 point buffer to Hot Chris Bunz in second.

The high scores this week came from the head-to-head in the same match - Duo vs KTFD. John Bryer had the best scratch series of the league so far; 627 (708 with handicap) and the second best scratch game, 239 (266). Rich Lester almost matched this with a 591 (663) series and a 220 (244) game but lost the two points by 45 pins. Karl King had another good series; 543 (660)

Dom Clarke (Hollywood) had a new high game, 14 higher at 187 (242) and also improved his high series by 2 to 458 (623)

Graham Lewis was successful with a 6-7 split.

League leaders Lightning Strikes produced their highest team score of the season to beat Brothers Grimm 12-0 and extend their lead over Hot Chris Bunz to 8 points. Hot Chris Bunz won 10-2 and stay in second but X-Men in third closed the gap to 12 points after a 12-0 win over Boom. KTFD move up two places to fourth after taking all the ponts from Hollywood.

Some excellent bowling tonight; Chris Woodward had a personal best series 601 (712 with handicap) including two 200 games. Keith MacFarlane had ten strikes in a 244 (281) game and also improved his high series by 53 to 566 (677). Wright Stuff had a 481 handicap game to go the top of the high team series list.

Graham Lewis improved his high series by 21 to 504 (636) - his first 500 series in this league. Sandra Woodfield hit a new high game 15 higher at 187 (246) and also had a new high series 414 (591)

Lightning Strikes found some form to beat their nearest rivals Hot Chris Bunz by 8-4 and extend their lead to six points. X-Men stay in third place in spite of losing 10-2 to Mac Too but are 14 points behind. Duo rise a place to fourth, another two points behind.

Karl King hit another 500 series (505, 625 with handicap) to be top scorer this week. Nobody else reached 500 and there was only one 200 game - by Graham Lewis (201, 246) who beat his previous season best by 29 pins.

Karen Davies had a new high series, 438 (612)

Paul Hurst converted an unusual 1-10 split and Diane MacFarlane dealt with a 5-10 in the same match.

A second loss in a row has reduced Lightning Strikes' lead to just two points over Hot Chris Bunz who had another good win tonight. These teams will face each other next week. X-Men keep third place in spite of losing but they now trail Hot Chris Bunz by 12 points. Ladies Who Bowl move up above Duo to fourth place, another seven points behind.

Top scorer this week was Bunz Hughes with 509 (650 with handicap), his highest score for some time. John Bryer was next best with 505 (589) and Rich Lester and Steve Emmony had the best game, 186 (222).
