Second place X-Men pegged Brothers Grimm back by four points after beating the leaders 8-4. The Brothers are now just nine points ahead but only one further point ahead of new third place RTFB who won 12-0 tonight.Duo drop from third to fifth.

The high score lists were dominated by Rich Tewkesbury and ICBIN Gutter. Well done to Rich for persevering beyond some very low scores three weeks ago to record new personal best game and series scores tonight. His 555 series (717 with handicap - the best in the league so far) is 86 higher than his previous best. He also hit two 200+ games - 223 (277 - second best in this league) and 200. ICBIN Gutter recorded a new high handicap game for the league of 474.

Alan Barton and Terry Highton both scored their first 500+ series tonight; Alan with 507 (606) and Terry 541 (661). Mary Grayson and Mandy King both improved their high series scores.

Paul Hurst converted a 2-4-10 split.

The league scratch average improved to 143.0

After another 10-2 win Brothers Grimm increase their lead over X-Men in second to 13 points. Duo are third with the same points as X-Men but a lower pinfall average.

Brothers Grimm lead all of the high score lists this week: Terry scored a 541 series (649 with handicap) including a clean 243 scratch game (279) with seven consecutive strikes. Both game scores are the best in the league so far. The Brothers also hit the best team game for both scratch and handicap and the best team scratch series for the league to date.

Several players had new high game scores tonight: Harry Hargreaves was 27 higher at 217 (250), Rich Lester also had his first 200+ game with 202 (226) as did Graham Lewis,15 higher at 203 (229). Nicola Rye-Holland was 9 higher at 212 (242), Steve Emmony was 7 higher at 208 (235). Barbara Lewis improved by 49 to184 (250) and Rich Tewkesbury improved by 14 to 188 (244)

The league scratch average remained at 142.9

After a 10-2 win over Turkeys tonight, Brothers Grimm are now nine points clear of X-Men who retain second by two points from Duo who stay in third..

MIck King was top scorer tonight with 544 (625 with handicap) from Dale Cousins with a new high series for the league on 530 (629) and Paul Hurst, 510 (618)

Liz Lake improved her high series by 57 to reach 501 (642 - the best this week) and Gary Wileman scored the extra pin needed to improve his high series to 500. Tony Pearce added 89 to his high series (449, 641) and Donna Smith added 17 to her high series (426, 600). Terry Emmony got the only 200 game tonight - 205 (242).

Mary Grayson converted 5-7-9 and 5-10 splits. Matt Lowe spared a 5-7 split. The first five frames of Liz Lake's third game were all strikes.

In spite of losing 4-8 to Mac Too, Brothers Grimm are the first team in this league to retain top spot for a second week. They lead last weeks second place X-Men by five points and new third place Duo are another two points behind them.

Many players found some form this week - there were seven 500+ series and four games over 200. John Bryer was top scorer with 580 (667 with handicap) - the highest in the league so far. Paul Simmons hit seven strikes in a row on the way to a 234 (276) game which is also the league highest so far.

Several bowlers had new high series: Paul Hurst +7 to 518, Anita Highton +2 to 465, Rose Barton +25 to 485, Martin Cook +25 to 551, Steve Emmony +46 to 558 and Paul Simmons +61 to 533.

Barbara Lewis dealt with a 4-10 split.

Week 6 of the league and the sixth team to top the league table is Brothers Grimm who won their game in hand v The Owls by 10-2 and won the match tonight by the same margin against Lightning Strikes. X-Men stay second, eight points behind. Last week's leaders Duo drop four places to fifth.

Nicola Rye Holland was top scorer and hit the only 200+ game (203, 233 with handicap). Her 528 series (618) was ten better than Jason Kettle (Dominoes) who had the best handicap series with 632. Steve Cousins impoved his high game to 195 (243 - the best of the night)

Brian Grayson converted 5-10 and 5-7 splits.

The league scratch average fell by 0.1 to 141.3

Another new team at the top of the table this week; Duo beat Hit & Miss by 12-0 and jump from fourth to first with a one point lead over X-Men who stay in second this week. Brothers Grimm move up two places to third while Dominoes are the biggest losers, falling to fourth.

Harry Hargreaves was top scorer in a low scoring week with 514 (613 with handicap). Tony King and Gary Wileman (RTFB) were top of the handicap scoring list with 651 and 625. Tony also had the best game of the night; 199 (254 - best in the league so far).

RTFB had the best team game and series scores with handicap in the league so far with 461 and 1,276.

Matt Lowe got a 5-10 split while both Brothers Grimm converted 2-4-10 splits

Week 4 and the fourth new leaders; Dominoes rise to the top after a 12-0 win over Lightning Strikes. They lead by three points from last weeks leaders X-Men who lost 5-7 to an understrength Turkeys.

Nicola Rye Holland was top scorer this week with 543 scratch (651 with handicap) and she also got one of only two 200+ games (201, 237)

Brothers Grimm were top scorers in every list with a 1003 scratch series (1207) and the best team game so far in this league - 383 (451)

As usual at this stage of the season, some big changes in league position: X-Men and Dominoes each jump two places to first and second and Duo rise three places to third while Mac Too +1 drop from last weeks first to fourth.

Four players reached 500 scratch series, lead by Rich Lester (529, 616 with handicap) and Martin Cook (526, 591). Gary Wileman hit the best handicap series 649 (496 scratch) and also had the best game of the night (198, 249). Carrie Bryer hit her first ever turkey tonight.

The Turkeys were the first team to score over 1000 scratch but ICBIN Gutter, their opponents tonight, had the best team handicap game and second best series. RTFB had the best handicap series of the league so far, 1,267.

Last weeks leaders Turkeys and I Can't Believe It's not Gutter drop to 7th and 10th respectively as the early results have big results in table positions. New leaders are Mac Too +1, one point ahead of Brothers Grimm who are three points ahead of X-Men.

Another low scoring week with Keith MacFarlane the only player to reach 500 and Dale Cousins and Terry Highton the only ones to reach 200 in a game. Berenice Davies was top scorer with handicap with 649 (487 scratch)

Terry Emmony got lucky with a 3-7-10.

Turkeys and I Can't Believe It's not Gutter head the table after each winning 10-2 tonight. Whip & Bake are in third with nine points. Turkeys had the best series, both scratch and handicap, with 972 and 1143.

Mick King was top scorer with 561 (588 with handicap) and was the only player to reach 200 scratch in a game with 206 (215). Kim Stone had an excellent first game, 192 (288) to head the high game with handicap table.

Paul Hurst converted a 1-2-10 split and also a 1-2-4-10.
Terry Highton was successful with a 5-10.
