Work has started to replace the pin setting system with pins on strings and after a chaotic start to the night, four teams played with the new machinery with the rest spread out over the rest of the centre. Problems were compounded by two of the new lanes initially refusing to return balls and these teams were late finishing.
Initial impressions are that averages will go up with strings appearing to occasionally tangle with standing pins to bring them down.

Team Aeriel and Young Tigers, last weeks first and second, both lost last night and The Kings rise above them with a 10-2 win over Lightning Strikes. Easybowl make up some ground in fourth after beating Premier Shandy.

Keith Mac was top scorer by some way with the best handicap series of the league so far, 688 (532 scratch, an improvement of 72 on his season best.) including a 203 (255) game - an improvement of 34 on his season best. Keith didn't think his scores had anything to do with the string pins...
