LIghtning Strikes Again!

Lightning Strikes retain the league championship with another emphatic win tonight to overhaul long-time leaders Hot Chris Bunz. They won with a margin of six points after taking 32 out of the last 36 points available to them. The Sopranos who also lead the league for several weeks, failed to keep up their challenge and finished third, another eight points adrift. Brothers Grimm just missed out on a top three finish, two points behind the Sopranos.

Well done to Karl King who rounded off an impressive run of scores with the league's first 600+ scatch series, 622 (712 with handicap) which included two 200 games: 201 and 241 (271). Over the last six weeks Karl has averaged 180 and ended the league with the highest scratch average of regular bowlers, 169.1.

Donna Smith and Dana Goodwin improved their high scores significantly tonight: Donna by 35 pins to 427 (601) and Dana by 29 to 419 (617). Donna also had a new high game, +3 to 164 (222). Neil Austin had a new high game, +10 to 188 (238)

The average scratch game was 143.2 and the scratch average for the season improved by 0.2 to end on 138.3
