Brothers Grimm did just enough to win the league tonight. Needing a 10-2 win over Hot Chris Bunz to be champions, that's exactly what they did. The Brothers rearranged match against Duo should have made the win beyond doubt but Duo produced their best match of the league (and the Brothers their worst performance) to win that match easily 12-0.
Hot Chris Bunz were also in a tight finish with Duo for second place but made it on the grounds of a better pinfall. Boom finished fourth, 11 points behind Duo.
Sean MacFarlane playing for The Kings was best bowler of the night with a 549 series (585 with handicap) and a 223 (235) game. Rich Lester was the only other bowler over 500 with 534 (615)
Nobody improved their high scores this week but Duo increased their team series by 8 to 977 (1,218)

The match between Brothers Grimm and Duo, first and second last week, was postponed and Hot Chris Bunz took advantage with a 12-0 win over Hit & Miss to top the table. They are five points in front of Bros Grimm who are five points in front of Duo. With one week to go, Duo are now out of the running and the league will be decided by the match between first and second.

Diane MacFarlane run of good form continues and she was by far the best player tonight with a new high series, 22 higher at 542 (662 with handicap - the second best of the league) and a new high game, 19 higher at 211 (251).

Karl King had another high series, up one to 472 (595)

Both leading teams lost heavily tonight with Hot Chis Bunz losing 12-0 to third place Duo who move up to second place. Duo have their bye week next week but have a chance of winning the league if other results go their way. Brothers Grimm keep top spot even after losing 2-10 to Just Friends and have a five point lead over Duo and seven over Hot Chris Bunz.

Steve Emmony was top scorer with 513 (594 with handicap) including a 205 game (232). Rich Lester who is a close second in the scratch averages also beat 500 with 511 (595). Martin Lapidge beat his previous best game in this league by 27 pins to score 219 (261)

Karl King had a new high series, 3 higher at 471 (594) and Diane MacFarlane hit a new high game, 192 (233)

With three weeks to go and with bye weeks and back matches out of the way, the final placings are becoming clearer. Boom and Duo in third and fourth have an outside chance of winning but still have their bye weeks to come. The league is really between Brothers Grimm and five points behind, Hot Chris Bunz. Duo play both teams in the remainder of the league and the final round has them playing each other.

No 200 games again this week and allowing for Hot Chris Bunz's back match scores from week 13, Terry Highton was top scorer with 510 (603 with handicap) Rich Lester increased his lead at the top of the 500 series league with his fifth; 504 (588)

Brothers Grimm increased their lead over Hot Chris Bunz to 17 points tonight but have their bye week next week and will come under a lot of pressure from the chasing teams. Boom in third and Duo in fourth have also not had their bye week yet and with only four weeks to go will find it hard to reach the top of the table.

No 500 series or 200 games tonight but Steve Emmony came closest with a 495 series (579 with handicap) and Chris Woodward hit a 191 game (226)

Only Sarah Shellard improved her season best score tonight: 13 higher at 456 (603)

Rich Lester converted a 5-7 split.

Brothers Grimm maintain a good lead of 12 points over the field but Hot Chris Bunz rise to second after winning 10-2 tonight and 10-2 in a back match against The Kings. Having already had their bye week, HCB are in a good position to go for the lead. Boom fall to third but still have a three point advantage over Duo in fourth.

Some excellent scores tonight including some personal bests. Keith MacFarlane had a great night with two 200 games (229, 220) in a 593 series (683 with handicap), both scores being the best in the league so far.

Chris Woodward had a new high series, 535 (652) an improvement of 20 and Bunz Hughes improved his high series by 21 to a personal best 493 (639) including a new high game, 196 (240). Tony Pearce had his first 200 game for a long while, 45 pins higher than his previous high in this league at 209 (261) and a new high series, 30 higher at 463 (619). Karen Davies improved her high game by 3 to 162 (220).

Boom won again this week, 8-4 against Hit and Miss and are now 11 points behind Brothers Grimm who drew against Mac Too. Hot Chris Bunz's match against the Kings was postponed but they retain third spot even so, but Duo are now level with them on points.

Terry Emmony and Brothers Grimm were top of all this week's high score lists. Terry scored over 500 for the first time this league with 526 (643 with handicap) and also hit his first 200 game, 210 (249). Terry Highton, with new ball, again features in the high score lists. The Brothers hit the best team scratch game of the league with 393 (459) and improved their best series by 10 pins to 1016 (1214)

Keith MacFarlane celebrated his birthday by converting a
2-4-10 split and almost repeating it a few frames later.

After a big 12-0 win against Hit and Miss, Boom go above Hot Chris Bunz into second place but still 13 points behind leaders Brothers Grimm. Hot Chris Bunz are another three points behind but they have already had their second bye week.

Richard Lester was top scorer by some distance this week; his 565 (652 with handicap) was 50 pins higher than his previous best and is the third best in the league so far. He also hit only his first 200 game of the league, 205 (234). Steve Emmony was the only other bowler over 500 with 505 (589).

Sarah Shellard was successful with several splits, the best being a 3-6-7. Steve Emmony got a 5-7.
