Mac Too's return to the top of the table was shortlived after losing 2-10 to Brothers Grimm. They drop to second again, two points behind Duo. The Brothers stay in third, now only eight behind Mac Too and five in front of Hit & Miss.

Graham Lewis had the best scratch scores; 530 (626 with handicap) and 222 (254). Terry Emmony had the best handicap series (it had to happen eventually...) 639 after his first 500 of the season and first 200 game.

Karen Davies, bowling for Pinpals, had her best series of the season, an improvement of 41 to 430 (607). Owen Campbell, Chucklers, increased his high series by 7 to 407 (560)

Ray Telfer and Chris Johnson got 5-7 splits.

The league scratch average remained at 139.9

The top two teams both took maximum points tonight while the following three all lost heavily. Mac Too and Duo have now opened up a 16 and 12 point lead over Brothers Grimm in third.

Mick Freeborn was top scorer in all categories with a new high score for the season, 536 (659 with handicap) including the best game,197 (238). His contribution lead to X-Men also topping the team high series scores.

There were a number of season best scores; Terry Highton hit his first 500 series 22 higher at 506 (620), Diane MacFarlane was close to 500 with an improvement of 8 pins to 495 (618), Tony Pearce was 15 higher at 474 (615), Lew Ashenden 3 higher at 455 (605), and Carrie Bryer 11 higher at 356 (566).

A number of good split conversions: Rose Barton 6-7-8-10, Carrie Bryer 5-8-10, Liz Lake 5-7 and Rich Lester 5-7 and 5-10.

The league scratch average fell to 139.9

Leaders Duo lost heavily to Brothers Grimm tonight and slip back down to second behind Mac Too, four points behind. Brothers Grim close the gap on both of them and are now only six points off the lead.

A good night for Stealth Bowlers and Carl Briggs. Carl had the second best scratch series of the league with 565 and the best handicap series so far, 676. Stealth Bowlers also feature in the high team scores and hit the best team handicap series 1,229. Graham Lewis had the next best score with 531 (630) and Lightning Strikes had the best game scores and also became the fourth team to break 1,000 for scratch series.

Sarah Shellard, Glitter Girls, improved both her high game and high series scores by 26 to 181 (240) and 35 to 432 (609). Anita Highton had a new high series, 6 higher at 446 (617)

Rose Barton was successful with a 6-8-10 split.Merv Farrow and Terry Emmony got 5-10 splits.


The league scratch average improved by 0.7 to 140.2

After a second loss in a row, and in spite of Diane hitting a new best series for the season (487, 616), Mac Too finally lost their place at the top of the table to Duo who won 12-0 against Lightning Strikes. Mac Too fall behind by four points but have a ten point buffer to new third place Brothers Grimm. Dominoes fell by two places to fifth having lost 2-10 to Hit and Miss.

John Bryer was the only player to reach 500 scratch tonight with 532 (601 with handicap) which also included the best game of the night a clean 220 (243). There were several series in the 490s scratch with Gary Wileman the best on 499 (619). Gary also scored the only other 200 game, a new seasons best 209 (249).

Barbara Lewis improved her high series by four to 417 (588) and Paul Simmons had a new high game; 19 higher at 186 (239).

Mac Too lost for the first time for many weeks while the following four teams all had good wins. The Mac's lead is cut to only four points from Duo who have an eight point gap to Dominoes in third.

Merv Farrow was top scorer with a 533 series, 632 with handicap. There weren't any 200+ games tonight, Ray Telfer was closest with a new high game for this league, 29 higher at 194 (242)

Gary Wileman improved his high series by 34 to reach 500 for the first time this season; 503, (629). Ray Telfer had a new high series score,14 higher at 471 (615). Donna Smith had four strikes in a row in scoring her best game of the season, 180 (241).

Carl Briggs converted a 5-8-10 split.

The league scratch average rose by 0.1 to 139.1

The top two teams, Mac Too and Duo both had 12-0 wins tonight and have opened up a bigger gap before new third place Dominoes who won 10-2 against Brothers Grimm. Beastie Boys took 12 points from their match tonight and 12 from a back match to move up four places to ninth place.

Richard Lester was top scorer with 540 (627 with handicap) including a season best game of 206 (235). Graham Lewis was next best with 531 (630, the best of the night).

Mac Too topped all of the high team scores this week with Diane improving her season best series by 23 to 476 (614). Both players in Hit and Miss had new high series for the season, Paul by 16 to 434 (596) and Donna by 7 to 408 (594).

Steve Emmony converted a 5-7 split and Alan Barton got a 2-4-7-10.

Mac Too had no trouble with beating Brothers Grimm tonight and have a ten point lead over new second place Duo who won 8-4 against Dominoes. Brothers Grimm are a further six points back in third.

Graham Lewis hit a new season best series 531 (636) to be top scorer and he also had the only 200+ game tonight with 219 (254), his first 200 game this season. Rich Lester was the only other player with a 500 series, 524 (614).

Paul Simmons improved his high game and series for this league and Lew Ashenden and Mick King both had new high games.

Chris Johnson (Boom) converted a 2-10 split.

The league scratch average improved by 0.6 to 139.5

The three leading teams all lost this week and Duo and Dominoes both slip a place down the table. Brothers Grimm move up two places to second after a win and a draw in their game in hand.

Merv Farrow was top scorer with a 551 scratch series (659 with handicap, also the highest) and including one of only two 200+ games, 200 (236). Nathan Ferrie, now bowling for Stealth Bowlers, had a new high game and high series for the season; 214 (254) and 504 (624).

Carl Briggs hit his first 500 series with 501 (621). Richard Hughes (Bunz) had a new personal best series, 13 higher at 450 (612) as did Anita Highton, 17 higher at 440 (611).

Terry Emmony had no problem with a 3-7-10 split.

The league scratch average improved slightly to 138.9

In a first versus second match Mac Too beat Dominoes 10-2 to keep top spot. Dominoes were overtaken by Duo who took all the points from Hit and Miss. The gap between first and second is back to seven points with another two to Dominoes.

Mac Too dominate the high score lists this week as individuals and as a team. Keith was top scorer with 514 (622) and also had the best game 195 (231). Mick had the second best handicap game and series. Steve Emmony was the only other player to break 500, with 508 (607).

Carl Briggs successfully dealt with a 3-7-10 split.

The league scratch average improved by another 0.1 to 138.7

Mac Too had a big enough lead to withstand both losing their match tonight and holding off their nearest rivals Dominoes who took all the points against Pin Pals. Their lead is down to just one point with Duo another eight behind in third.

Rose Barton's run of good form continues with another season best game and series score. Rose improved her high series by 66 pins to 543 (675 with handicap - the best in the league so far) which included a 220 game (264, also the league best). With Alan also hitting a new high game (193, 240) the Dominoes also top the high team scores this week.

Steve Emmony was second highest scorer this week in all categories after hitting a new high game (13 higher at 212, 246) and series (28 higher at 539, 641)

Paul Hurst was successful with a 2-4-8-10 split.
