In a week that was disrupted by the Hollywood bowl double booking the lanes, Dominoes did just enough to make it almost certain of the league title. They only won four points against Pin Fellers but that puts them twelve points ahead of Turkeys with only position night to come. Turkeys have a higher handicap pinfall so a 12-0 win on position night will see them snatch the title from Dominoes.

Some odd results this week; second, third and fourth were all beaten 0-12 and their positions are unchanged. The Owls can move up to third on position night if they beat Brothers Grimm by 10-2.

Only two 500+ series and three games over 200. Alan Barton was top scorer with 532 (595 with handicap). Paul Hurst was next best with his highest series of the league, 526 (643) which also included his best game of the league, 214 (253).

Kim Stone improved her high scores; high game by 3 to 184 (235) and high series by 10 to 490 (643). Mike Davies and Diane MacFarlane also hit their highest series of the league tonight.

Steve Cousins, standing in for Dale, was successful with a
6-7 split.

The league scratch average remained at 145.6. (Summer league was 146.4)

The three leading teams seem to have the league between them after they opened up a 30 point gap to fourth place. The gap between first and third is also the smallest it has been for many weeks. Dominoes continue to struggle with their form and lost 4-8 to Duo tonight while Turkeys and Brothers Grimm both won. The Brothers were fortunate to beat Glitter Girls 12-0 to close the gap to second place to just one point.

A high scoring week tonight: nine 500+ scratch series and five 200+ games. Brian Grayson had his best series for some time with 573 (681 with handicap) including a 215 (251) game. Merv Farrow was close behind with 567 (672) and he had the best game of the night; 222 (257)

Tim Hill improved his high series by three to 512 (647) while Mick Freeborn finally got through the 500 level with 502 (609). Dougie McCall had a new high game and high series for the league and hit a 400 series for the first time. Liz Lake had a new high game, 11 higher at 190 (234) and well done to Susi Cousins who had a new personal best game 171 (237).

Mick King dealt with a 3-7-10 split and Lee Georgeson converted a 5-7 split.

The league scratch average jumped by 0.3 to 145.9. (Summer league was 146.4)

Some bizarre results tonight with last week's top five teams all losing. No changes in position except for fifth place Hit & Miss falling to sixth after losing 12-0. Turkeys were also beaten 12-0 and so fall another four points behind Dominoes who only lost 4-8. Brothers Grimm close the gap to Turkeys by four points but they are still 29 points behind Dominoes.

Lee Georgeson was top scorer with an excellent 563 series (674 with handicap, third best of the league so far) including the best game of the night, 222 (259 - also third best of the league). John Bryer and Richard Lester were next best with scratch series of 547 (601) and 546 (621) respectively. Richard hit two of the three 200+ games tonight.

Carrie Bryer improved her best game score by 18 to 145 (220)

Mary Grayson was successful with two big splits; a 4-7-10 and a 3-7 with eight others through the three games that didn't turn out so well..... Nicola Rye-Holland got a 5-10.

The league scratch average fell by 0.1 to 145.7. (Summer league was 146.4)
